Do you ever feel like there is more on your to do list than there are hours in the day?
From the time we wake up, to when our head hits the pillow, there are so many activities vying for our time, we just can’t seem to do it all. It’s as if more every day we are falling behind on the things we need to do simply to stay on top of the demands on our time.
“If I just had more energy, I would be fine,” is something many people say to themselves.
Yet, the more we are required to do, the less energy we seem to have.
Energy Is Available
Wouldn’t it be great to tap into an unlimited energy reservoir? You can… through your food choices.
Food choices contribute greatly to our energy, or lack thereof. A quick look at many people’s food choices reveals a great deal about why they feel the way they do.
Food choices are a main contributor to not feeling good and increasing our chances of illness.
On the flip side, the right food choices not only improve our health, what we eat can substantially increase our energy.
It’s true. Food plays a vital role in our health and wellbeing.
Much of “what ails us” can be reversed with food. But not just any food. Foods that are specific to your needs.
Diets Don’t Work
Many people mistakenly believe diets are the way to increased energy. They figure if they lose a few pounds, this will give them the energy they need to get through the day. Diets are NOT the solution.
With each fad diet that comes along, we are causing ourselves more harm than good if we believe in the “one size fits all” eating regime.
What may be healthy for one person, may not be a good choice for someone else. The foods we need are as unique as we are.
Intuitive Eating vs Mindful Eating
One of the best ways to increase energy is to eat intuitively. Intuitive eating is different than mindful eating.
Intuitive eating is where you literally tap into what your body is telling you it needs to live, with as much health and vibrancy as you can. Mindful eating is where you are paying attention to what you eat and being more conscious about what you put into your body during the process of eating.
A combination of intuitive and mindful eating is a powerful mix. When you eat according to what your body requires, you increase your energy. When you increase your energy, you can accomplish more in less time which gives you the ability to enjoy yourself more.
